Apollo GPS Antenna Specs

The Apollo GPS Antenna is an aviation technology used in airplane global positioning systems. The antenna is used to recieve GPS signals, improving the reception of a GPS device, such as a Garmin or Magellean.

  1. Electrical specifications

    • The Apollo GPS Antenna operates on 5-volt direct current, plus or minus 10%, at 35 milliamperes with 50 ohms impedance. Its power handling is one watt and its band rejection is 35 decibels.

    Reciever specifications

    • The Apollo antenna receives on a frequency of 1575 megahertz, with right hand circular polarization. The reciever gets its first fix in 40 seconds, including date, time and position within 1 degree. The antenna's typical time for reacquisition is four seconds and it updates its position in one-second intervals. Its maximum operating altitude is 55,000 feet.

    Physical specifications

    • The Apollo's casing finish is a polyurethane enamel. The unit weighs 3.9 ounces and is 0.61 inch high. It's operable tempreture range is from minus 55 degrees Celsius to 85 degrees Celsius.
