How Fast Is Fios Business Class?
FiOS Business Class is a type of internet service offered by Verizon. FiOS uses fiber optic cables that transport data through laser generated pulses of light, providing some of the fastest Internet download speeds in the United States. (See References 1, 2 and 3)

Verizon offers five FiOS plans. Each plan offers different internet upload and download speeds. The "starter" package has download speeds as fast as 15 megabytes per second (MBPS). The "quick" package offers download speeds at 25 MBPS. The "fast" package features download speeds at 35 MBPS. With the "faster" package, you'll receive download speeds at 50 MBPS. Finally, the "fastest" package features download speeds at 150 MBPS.

FiOS can offer download speeds of up to 150 MBPS whereas high-end Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) download speeds average around seven MBPS. Likewise, cable download speeds typically reach no more than 50 MBPS. However, Cablevision has offered cable download speeds in small sections of New York City as fast as 101 MBPS. As of 2011, the only service to offer faster Internet speeds than Verizon FiOS is Fi-Speed by EPB FIber Optics of Chattanooga, Tennessee. This service also uses fiber optic cables. It provides speeds as fast as one gigabyte per second (GBPS).

Speed Test

Verizon has a feature that offers customers the ability to measure their exact FiOS upload and download speeds. This speed test is done by measuring how fast a customers data moves through the fiber optic connection in a 10 second time period.
