Verizon offers five FiOS plans. Each plan offers different internet upload and download speeds. The "starter" package has download speeds as fast as 15 megabytes per second (MBPS). The "quick" package offers download speeds at 25 MBPS. The "fast" package features download speeds at 35 MBPS. With the "faster" package, you'll receive download speeds at 50 MBPS. Finally, the "fastest" package features download speeds at 150 MBPS.

As of 2011, the only service to offer faster Internet speeds than Verizon FiOS is Fi-Speed by EPB FIber Optics of Chattanooga, Tennessee. This service also uses fiber optic cables. It provides speeds as fast as one gigabyte per second (GBPS).

Verizon has a feature that offers customers the ability to measure their exact FiOS upload and download speeds. This speed test is done by measuring how fast a customers data moves through the fiber optic connection in a 10 second time period.
