What is a DJ Mixer Transformer?
When a disc jockey wants to speak over music fed to speakers, he plugs a microphone and the music source into a mixer. A mixer could have several inputs for CDs, tape recorders, record players or more microphones.

Mixers come in several varieties, from a few channels to numerous channels for professional sound recording studios or large bands on tour. Smaller mixers suitable for night club use may be called "DJ mixers."
Transformers
-
Transformers use one coil of wire in the primary winding to induce voltage and current into a secondary winding. Transformers can increase or decrease voltage levels or isolate signals for various uses.

Misconceptions
-
People often confuse mixers with transformers because mixers contain transformers. One transformer inside a mixer lowers the AC power input to lower levels, and others isolate audio signals between amplifier stages. Each could be called a "DJ mixer transformer."
