The Lincoln brand of automobiles offers warranties and extended warranties for its cars through its parent company, the Ford Motor Company. Extended warranties are also available through private companies.

Each new Lincoln is covered by a manufacturers limited warranty, covering bumper-to-bumper repairs, powertrain, corrosion and the safety restraint system. Federal law in the U.S. also requires the emissions produced by the vehicle to be covered by a warranty.

The Ford Motor Company offers an extended warranty through its Extended Service Plan that is available in combinations of time, distance and deductible payments. Lincoln extended warranties cover the vehicle owner from costs when the bumper-to-bumper repair warranty expires. Benefits of extended warranty include reimbursement for rental car costs and towing fees.

When an extended warranty is purchased on a Lincoln, the warranty must be honored in the U.S. by the 4,600 Ford dealerships who are contractually obligated to provide services under the extended warranty agreement. Extended warranties do not cover repairs completed outside the U.S., Canada, Guam or Puerto Rico.
