How to Compare Ricoh & Savin Copiers

The Ricoh Company owns Savin, so many of the copiers each company sells are the same, just with a different name on them. Comparing the features of the machines the two companies offer depends upon your budget, usage and printing needs.

  1. Types

    • Ricoh sells a multitude of types of copy machines, both under its own brand and under Savin. These include black-and-white copiers, full-color copiers and units that include a scanner and fax machine built in.

    Differences

    • Toner cartridges are the only apparent difference between the two brands, as Ricoh toner cartridges won't work in a Savin machine and vice versa.

    Size

    • A variety of copier sizes are available, ranging from models that fit on your desk, to large, floor-mount machines with two or more paper drawers capable of handling various paper weights and sizes.

    Print Quality

    • Since both Ricoh and Savin copiers are produced by the same parent company, there should be little difference between the two in terms of print quality. Samples from each machine produced in conditions as close to your intended use as possible, should be compared to find the machine that best matches your needs and standards.
