Why Is Java Missing From Advanced Internet Options in IE7?
Java is a programming language owned by Oracle, that is frequently used on Web pages. The language requires the use of the Java runtime environment. You need to have this package installed on your computer to run Java Web applications.

Java
-
The Java language, rather than being compiled into an executable, uses source code interpreted by the Java virtual machine. This virtual machine is included with the Java runtime environment, and consequently required to execute Java code.
Advanced Internet Options
-
Internet Explorer (IE) 7 users can enable or disable the execution of Java applications. Since the Java runtime environment is used by the Web browser, instead of being part of it, if the runtime environment is not installed on your computer you will not see a Java option in the Advanced Internet Options.

Installing Java
-
You can download the Java runtime environment from Oracle's website. Execute the file after you download it to install the runtime environment on your computer.
