Why Does Explorer Shut Down When Opening a Folder in Windows?

When you're opening multiple windows on your computer, your system should be calibrated so that it minimizes windows already on your screen when a new one is opened. You should not experience Explorer crashes when you open a new folder in your Windows system.

Last Resort

If those methods do not work, you may have to reinstall Windows or run a system restore. System restore restores your computer to a previous date. You may lose some data, but it fixes your issue. A reinstallation is likely to cause you to lose all data, so back everything up first.
