You can play Flash games on many Internet-capable devices.

The Adobe Flash platform is a tool and language for making multimedia applications for the Internet. These include interactive websites, videos and video games. Adobe provides a number of tools to help developers learn how to use the Flash platform.

  1. Adobe Flash

    • Flash MX was a version of the Flash programming platform when it was still owned by the Macromedia company. It was subsequently acquired by Adobe and made part of the Adobe Creative Suite. As of 2010, the current version of Flash is CS5. To make Flash games, you will need to purchase a software license from Adobe.

    .SWF

    • Flash games are compiled into .SWF files. These files are loaded onto a Web page. Internet browsers will then load the .SWF file data through the Adobe Flash Player. This will let the user play your Flash game.

    Learning Flash

    • Adobe maintains a part of its website called the Adobe Developer Connection. One subset of the Developer Connection is the Flash Platform Game Technology Center. Here, you can find a variety of tutorials and articles on programming Flash games and other multimedia projects.
