SCSI to Ethernet Converter
A small computer system interface (SCSI) to Ethernet converter is computer hardware that allows you to network a computer that doesn't contain a built-in Ethernet jack. It is rarely used today, and is only relevant for extremely old computers.

History
-
A SCSI to Ethernet network adapter is generally slow. The SCSI port on a computer is a connection that allows computers to connect to one or more peripheral devices. Although once extremely common and popular, it has since been superseded by faster and sleeker connection methods, namely universal serial bus (USB) and FireWire.
Function
-
An Ethernet cable. The connector plugs into your computer's SCSI port and must be connected to an Ethernet RJ-45 cable. Due to the nature of the unit and the computer, software or drivers must be installed as well to allow your computer to recognize the adapter. Understand that network connections via a SCSI converter are almost always far slower than computers with built-in Ethernet network adapters.

Expert Insight

You may have to search used computer sites to find one. SCSI to Ethernet converters are no longer a common item and subsequently, difficult to find. The only places they can be located are in retailers specializing in legacy and hard-to-find computer items, and on the used computer part circuit on auction websites.
