Information on the Polaris SLTH Watercraft Engine

Polaris is a manufacturer of recreational vehicles including ATVs, motorcycles and personal watercraft (jet-skis). The Polaris SLTH is a three-person personal watercraft manufactured during the late 1990s. It was sold throughout North America.

  1. Identification

    • The Polaris SLTH is built around a 701cc inline two-cylinder water jet engine equipped with 95 horsepower. The engine is paired with a three-blade, stainless steel impeller.

    Function

    • The engine in the SLTH has a bore of 81 mm and a stroke of 68 mm. It also has a compression ratio of 7.0 to 1 and a Digital CDI ignition. The engine is lubricated by variable rate oil injection. Carburetion is done via a Keihin CDK II 40-35mm carburetor.

    Performance

    • According to BoatTest.com, top speed for the Polaris SLTH is 55 mph. The engine burns on average 11.4 gallons per hour. Optimal cruising speed is 38 mph, a speed at which the engine gets 9.5 miles to the gallon. The overall fuel capacity of the Polaris SLTH is 15 gallons.
