Hydroponic Fertilizer Burn
Hydroponic gardens are enclosed growing situations that utilize pots, water circulation and non-soil media to support plants. These gardens are successful in indoor growing, but require specific nutritional additions to replace soil. Hydroponic gardeners must always use these hydroponic nutrients carefully. Does this Spark an idea?

Plant-Specific Nutrients
-
Hydroponic nutrients come with labels akin to the labels on fertilizer -- to label their ingredients. Every plant has specific needs when it comes to minerals and vitamins, so using the wrong hydroponic nutrient may burn (or under-nourish) the plant.
Mixing
-
Many hydroponic nutrients come pre-mixed. Others come in concentrated forms and require the addition of pure water. Gardeners who don't add pure water to nutrient concentrate, or don't add enough water, run the risk of burning their plants with overly strong fertilizer.

Considerations
-
Nutrients are not the only necessary ingredient for hydroponic success. Hydroponic plants also require the right amount of sun and heat if they're to grow to maturity and bear fruit or flowers.
