Norway spruce is an evergreen conifer native to northern and central Europe. It can grow 80 to 100 feet tall and 25 to feet wide, though some cultivars can can be shrubby. It grows best in USDA zones 2b to 7a.
Cultural Requirements

Norway spruce is not picky about soil and will grow in many adverse conditions. For best growth, however, it prefers moist, well-drained, acidic soil in full sun. Despite its versatility, it does not tolerate wet soils.

Norway spruce has no regular pruning requirements. Because the shaded and root-bound soil beneath the tree is not suitable for growing other plants, its bottom branches are best left to grow down to the ground.
