Problems With the Sharp Model LCC5255U TV

The Sharp LCC5255U is a 52-inch LCD television with 1080p high definition resolution. It has a 60,000 hours panel life before it loses picture brightness and quality. The television is highly rated, but has a few problems according to the CNET reviews from users and staff.

Contrast Ratio

The Sharp LCC5255U has a 2,000:1 contrast ratio which calculates the amount of light in a dark picture. This ratio is low compared to other LCD televisions. The low contrast ratio can be a problem when watching certain video images.

Picture-in-Picture

The LCC5255U television does not provide the Picture-in-Picture feature to allow you to watch two video sources at once. For a 52-inch television with many video inputs, PIP is more the norm.

Refresh Rate

The rated refresh rate of the television is 60Hz. As we enter 2011, 60Hz is slow. The refresh rate is the time screen refreshes the picture in 60 seconds. Most televisions at the size and resolution of the Sharp LCD have at least a 120Hz refresh rate.
