  1. Yellow Archangel

    • Yellow archangel (Lamium galeobdolon) is an aggressive perennial ground cover that is hardy in U.S. Department of Agriculture planting zones 4 through 8. Silver variegated leaves frame spikes of yellow flowers with brown spots in summer. This flower does best in part or full shade and well drained soil. Invasive by nature, the plant will spread rapidly in ideal conditions.

    Iceplant

    • Iceplant (Carpobrotus edulis) runs close to the ground and displays yellow daisy-like flowers that open at noon and turn pink as the day passes. This warm-climate beauty is hardy in zones 8 through 11 and produces an edible fig-like fruit. This spreading evergreen perennial can cover large areas rapidly.

    Yellow Corydalis

    • Yellow Corydalis (Corydalis lutea) is widespread in woodland habitats and does not like extreme heat or humidity. Golden flowers appear in late spring lasting into the fall for end-of-season color. Suitable for zones 3 through 9, yellow corydalis is useful for naturalizing with its ferny foliage and clumping habit.
