VoIP MOS Testing is a method of using people to test voice quality where the results accurately reflect human responses. MOS stands for Mean Opinion Score, which refers to the fact that the test results depend on feedback from testers.

    • MOS Testing involves a number of basic tests that are subjective. The tests consist of a certain number of people rating the audio quality of a test sentence. Each sentence is read by both males and females and is given a rating.

    • Several different factors can affect the outcome of MOS testing. Some of these factors include hardware, bandwidth and the codec used. In measuring voice quality a non-compressed G711 codec offers the best voice quality.
