Outdoor Music & Light Timer

Outdoor timers assist in lighting and music displays for the holidays.

Many homes have outdoor lighting displays during multiple holidays each year. From traditional displays to elaborate light and music shows, the trend is part of culture, yet can be costly and time-consuming. Safety and ease of maintenance have progressed with a modern line of timers and weatherproof electrical outlets.

Lighting

Some lighting displays require multiple cords and a weatherproofed outdoor outlet allows for grounded and safe electrical connection. Many models are equipped with timers that enable and disable power based on digital entry of a certain time or using a light sensor to turn on the unit at dusk.

Music

Outdoor power strips with timers also allow for music to be added to displays. Basic setup would include an outdoor MP3 player and speaker that would be set on continual play and be turned off and on by the timer.

Synchronization

There are now products on the market that combine all those tasks into one unit. Allowing for lighting pieces to be plugged into a weatherproof unit that synchronizes them with pre-loaded holiday songs or from an external device connection has improved safety and organization of the amateur outdoor display.
