Age & ID Verification System
Thanks to advancements in technology, people can create fake IDs that can fool veteran bouncers, retailers and others who require valid ID to transact business. Age and ID verification systems can work like credit card machines to identify the authenticity of an ID card. The card is swiped through the machine which reads the magnetic stripe on the back of the card.
Restricted Access Systems
-
Online age and ID verification systems use credit card ownership as a form of age verification. Identifying the user is important to online content creators as they use the power to revoke membership to deter members from copying and transferring their content to free sources.

Considerations
-
Age and ID verification systems can only be as effective as the infrastructure that supports them. Using driver's license and credit cards is effective for identifying adults, but public records are not available for minors. A national ID system from birth has been suggested to overcome that. Also, because of the global reach of online content, minors in foreign countries can't be identified.
