Description
-
An air walk is an aerial corridor that connects two different buildings. It is high enough above the ground to permit the passage of tall objects beneath it. It is usually enclosed, often with a transparent material such as glass. In cold or rainy weather, an air walk enables people to pass from one building to another without going outside.
Synonyms
-
Skywalk is a synonym for air walk. Air walks are usually a few stories above the ground. When an air walk occurs at a considerably higher elevation, the term "skywalk" effectively describes such a lofty structure. Airway and airbridge also serve as synonyms, but they also have other meanings. For example, an airway is a regular airplane route.

An Australian Adaptation
-
The Australian province of Tasmania has adapted the air walk to a natural setting. In the Tahune Forest Reserve, a treetop-level, milelong walkway allows tourists to see the forest from a point high above the forest floor.
