  1. Plywood's Environmental Impact

    • To make plywood, large, flawless old-growth Douglas fir trees are cut down, spun at high rates of speed, and sliced into thin, 400-foot sheets. Douglas fir trees can grow to be well over 300 feet tall, and live more than 500 years, sometimes beyond 1,000 years.
