Software

In cases where there is a hard drive or system failure and there isn't a backup, there are software packages which may help. More than a dozen software vendors offer packages designed to assist you in repairing your operating system or recovering data after a crash.

Services

Most good computer repair outlets offer data recovery assistance. Computer repair technicians have in-depth knowledge and tools most consumers lack and may be able to recover data from even the most damaged systems and discs.
