BIOS
-
BIOS stands for basic input/output system. It is firmware that controls the boot on your computer and controls the computer from the time it starts until the operating system is loaded. While the operating system is loading it does a basic hardware check and scans for attached devices, including hard disks, keyboards, the mouse, printer and others. The BIOS also stores the date, time and system configuration in a battery-powered memory chip. Recently built computers do not require BIOS updates.
Website
-
The BIOS Agent Plus website will run a scan over the Internet to check your BIOS and determine if any updates are needed and available. According to the website, it works with all major Windows operating systems, including 7, Vista, XP Home, XP Pro, 2000, 2003 Server, ME, 98 and 95 and with most major browsers.

According to the BIOS Agent Plus website, the software checks your operating system as well as all peripheral devices for needed BIOS updates and provides a thorough BIOS report. The report includes information on device drivers, the motherboard, hardware, the chipset, memory and other important information on your computer and its performance.
