The Organizational Structure for a Rural Income-Generating Project

The Organizational Structure for a Rural Income-Generating Project thumbnail
Rural areas may need special projects to create needed income.

Many times rural areas lack the vibrant economy of urban areas. To fill this need, governments and non-profit organizations create rural income-generating projects.

  1. Initial Structuring

    • A rural income-generating project initially requires certain structures be in place. Some of the initial structuring may include selecting committee members, according to the "Journal of Family Ecology and Consumer Sciences." Also, obtaining necessary funding to start the project is key.

    Group Identity

    • It is important for a rural income-generating project to establish its own identity. This includes creating a unified vision and goals. Additionally, a name and logo may need to be chosen.

    Product Development

    • Once project leaders have identified existing skill-sets of the rural area, they identify which products could be developed within the community. Availability, cost and sources of raw materials should also be considered. Project leaders should then identify proper marketing outlets for the product.
