Memory problems on the ThinkPad T30 are usually resolved easily.

The ThinkPad T30 is a laptop produced by IBM in 2002. It is fitted with two 200-pin SO-DIMM memory slots, and can support up to 1 GB of memory in total. Memory problems on the T30 may be hardware or software related.

  1. Insufficient memory

    • The most common memory problem is insufficient memory. If more recent programs have been installed, the pre-installed memory may not be enough. A memory upgrade may help, but note that it may be necessary to remove the installed memory to free up that slot for a larger memory module.

    Out-of-date BIOS

    • Memory problems may occur when the latest BIOS is not installed. Check with IBM support to ensure the correct version is installed Download the latest BIOS revision if yours is out-of-date.

    Memory incompatibility

    • The ThinkPad T30 does not support all available memory modules. Collecting part numbers and relaying them to IBM's support service can help determine compatibility.

    Run PC Doctor

    • Press the F11 key during startup to run PC Doctor. This diagnostics program can help locate the source and type of memory problem.
