Fuel Economy for the 2004 Silverado SS

The 2004 Chevrolet Silverado SS is a 4-door, 5-passenger full size pickup truck. It is available in only one trim, the Extended Cab Short Bed. The fuel economy is average for a truck of its size.

    • The Silverado SS has a standard 6.0-liter, V8, 345-horsepower engine that gets 13 mpg in the city and 17 mpg on the highway. It comes standard with a 4-speed automatic overdrive. The fuel tank has a capacity of 26 gallons and it takes regular unleaded gasoline.

    Steering and Suspension Specifications

    • The Silverado SS has short and long arm front suspension, a front anti-roll bar and torsion bar front springs. It has leaf rear suspension and springs, re-circulating ball steering, and 4-wheel front and rear vented disc brakes. It comes with 20-inch silver alloy wheels and a full-size steel spare tire.

    Safety Specifications

    • The Silverado SS features 4-wheel anti-lock brakes (ABS), daytime running lights, a center high mounted stop light, side impact bars, and driver and passenger front impact airbags with occupancy sensor. It has a panic alarm and an available tracker and security system.
