Management Induction Training

Management induction training is designed to help a new manager become familiar with the company he will be working for, according to Tutor2U. Induction training requires four elements--general training, mandatory training, job training and training evaluation.

  1. General Training

    • General training includes education on the values and philosophy of the company. It also includes learning about the company's structure and history. This can be accomplished through reading assignments, video presentations and the Internet.

    Mandatory Training

    • Management induction must also include specific mandatory training relating to health and safety and other essential or legal areas. This portion of induction training can be presented through reading assignments, attending internal briefings, video or Internet presentations.

    Job Training

    • Job training involves instruction on how to perform the role of the new manager. Usually the new manager will require on-the-job coaching and mentoring. The new manager may also be delegated tasks and projects that can help her learn the management process.

    Training Evaluation

    • Evaluation in management induction training confirms that the new starting manager has retained the necessary information. This can be done by presentation assignments, in which the new starter must present the information he has learned.
