A single lens reflex camera, such as the Canon XTi, uses a mirror and a pentaprism to allow you to see the exact framing of the image in the lens by looking through the viewfinder. The image that you see through the lens is reflected off a mirror up to the pentaprism, where it is reflected forward and then straight back through the viewfinder to your eye.

Like all SLR cameras, the Canon XTi does not have a permanently attached lens. You can choose from a wide variety of lenses that are compatible with Canon's EOS EF lens mount. The XTi also boasts a 10.1 MP Canon CMOS sensor with a new ultrasonic dust removal system that shakes off dust. The simplified body design features only one control wheel and no display screen at the top of the camera. It has a 2.5- inch LCD screen on its back. The EOS XTi also feature a DIGIC II Image Processor, 9-Point Auto Focus, E-TTL II flash metering system and six preset scene settings.
