Problems With Belarus Night Vision Goggles
Night vision goggles are similar in operation to night vision binoculars or rifle scopes. The advantage of night vision goggles is that they are held in position by a headband which allows you to use the night vision hands free. Goggles from Belarus operate in much the same manner as goggles from other parts of the world, and often demonstrate the same problems.

Using your night vision goggles while simultaneously having to refer to normal vision can be a problem; for example, if you're operating a vehicle or aircraft and need to refer to interior gauges while watching the darkness. You can overcome this problem by learning to peek underneath the goggles to monitor the gauges.

While using night vision goggles, your neck muscles compensate for the extra weight, which can cause neck pain. The weight is exaggerated by the fact that the goggles are hanging in front of your face. You can add a counterweight (such as a beanbag) to the back of the headpiece to help balance the weight.

Your sense of depth perception becomes impaired through extended use of night vision goggles. The impairment is temporary and your depth perception will return, but you can avoid the problem by limiting your night vision use.
