How to Buy DRMO Military Hummers

How to Buy DRMO Military Hummers thumbnail
Military vehicels are sold through a DRMO auction.

Out of service military Hummers are resold by the Defense Reutilization and Marketing Office. Military Hummers do not meet Department of Transportation requirements and therefore cannot be driven legally on the road. However, DRMO hummers are sold for scrap parts and under specific circumstances find their way to the general public.

  1. Location

    • The DRMO handles the sale of any non-commissioned military vehicle. Sales take place at the headquarters or field offices located near a military base. DRMO military Hummers are also held at the originating military base. Visit the Defense Reutilization and Marketing Sales (DRMS) website for more information.

    Who Can Buy

    • The general public who are at least 18-years-old and U.S. Governmental personnel who are not employed by the DRMO sales program can partake in a DRMO auction.

    Purchase Exceptions

    • Military Hummers are sold for scrap parts to qualified buyers. Never purchase a military Hummer without a SF97 form, which certifies the purchaser can receive title ownership of the vehicle. Prototype military Hummers sold by companies bidding for government contracts, Hummers sold before the ban and units assembled from parts are exceptions to the rules.
