Pesticide for Stink Bug Control
Several kinds of stink bugs exist. They all have a shield shape and brown or green color, with some species also having red, pink or yellow markings. They discolor fruits and can introduce decay-causing pathogens. Does this Spark an idea?

Necessity
-
The number of stink bugs that warrants pesticide use depends on your location, so contact your local Extension office for recommendations. You can find out how many stink bugs you have by shaking plants over a piece of muslin cloth and counting the number of stink bugs that fall onto the cloth.
Types
-
Pesticides that kill stink bugs include methamidophos, lambda-cyhalothrin, methomyl, fenpropathrin, cyfluthrin, imidacloprid and endosulfan. Some pesticides require watering after application to help them penetrate the soil. Insecticidal soap sprays only kills nymphs on direct contact and doesn't affect adults.

Considerations
-
Use hollow-cone nozzles or air-assist sprayers to improve penetration. Stink bugs often stay on the ground and ground applications provide better coverage than aerial sprays. Pesticides with long-residual activity often work more effectively because adult stink bugs often leave and re-enter plants.
