SAP FICO Training

SAP, Inc. provides software solutions that help businesses better manage finance, production, warehousing, sales and administration. Financial (FI) and controlling (CO) applications (FICO) are targeted at finance, accounting and reporting functions.

Training Curriculum

The FICO course for FI includes general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, asset management and bank reconciliation. The CO course covers cost centers, profit centers, profitability analysis and managerial accounting. Certification is available upon course completion for people with two years of hands-on experience. Students who have experience with complex software systems will find online training more appropriate than less experienced students.

Online Instruction and Cost

Online instruction allows people to learn in their own office and at their own pace. Technology offers participants interactive access with an emphasis on learning the SAP functional modules that allow real-time use of the applications. Online courses that offer 40 hours of instruction cost $500 or more (as of 2010).

Classroom Instruction and Cost

A live, classroom session with an instructor provides the opportunity to learn hands-on alongside experienced SAP trainers. Participants train on real-world scenarios they can apply when they return to their office. One week of classroom instruction starts at $1500 (as of 2010) plus travel expenses, if any.
