Autodesk Revit Training

Autodesk Revit is software designed for use by architects and building engineers. The software combines computer-aided design (CAD) with project database and scheduling programs and training is offered by Autodesk and their authorized course providers.

Prerequisites

Most training providers do not require applicants to have previous knowledge of Autodesk Revit software, but expect experience in CAD, project scheduling and an understanding of virtual design. Autodesk Revit is available for PC and Mac platforms and course participants should have knowledge about their operating system.

Features

Training will include explanations about the Autodesk Revit interface and give instructions for use of the individual drawing and editing tools. Participants will learn how to create building components in 3D and how to combine the design process with schedules and cost estimation. Courses are completed with Revit-Training certification.

Time Frame and Fees

Courses for Autodesk Revit are offered online, in classroom settings or customized. Online courses usually take 15 hours and in 2010 cost approximately $350. Customized training is charged at $95 per hour while classroom tutoring usually lasts for three days and costs $1,000 (2010).
