What Is Oracle MLS?

Oracle has been leading business software applications for over 30 years.

A global business environment requires software that can handle different languages. Oracle applications offer a solution to the language barrier.

  1. National Language Support

    • An application with national language support (NLS) allows the operator to choose the language they wish to use to run the program. It gives instructions and help prompts in the language of choice, as well as reports in that language.

    Multi-Language Support

    • Multi-language support (MLS) enables the program to use more than one language at a time. Data can be input and exported with many non-English languages on the same computer. MLS is not a different way of handling data than NLS, it is an extension.

    National Language Support with Multi-Language Support

    • Oracle has NLS with MLS. Operators are able to choose the language they want, yet the system can compile input or imported data in other languages. The system will hold the data separately and also translate and combine all the data into the national language chosen on that computer.
