BS & ISO Standards
BS and ISO standards are used within industry as a means of providing universal working specifications. BS standards are set for working practices in the United Kingdom, while ISO standards are used internationally. The standards help to establish a common understanding between trading partners and offers customer reassurance in the form of printed kite marks on all BS or ISO standard products.

BS Standards

BS standards are set by the British Standards Institute and the organization, founded in 1901, is the oldest global standards body in operation today. The BSI currently has more than 27,000 different standards in place that cover a wide range of business operations, including accountancy, engineering and the automotive sector.
ISO Standards

ISO standards are a global collection of specifications from all over the world and are regulated by the International Standards Organization. Founded in 1947, the ISO gather standardized objectives with a view to promoting international trade.

Examples of BS and ISO Standards

BS and ISO standards cover many different industry sectors. BS 8903:2010, for example, provides a framework for companies to help increase their sustainability levels. ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 are two of the most common international standards, and these cover quality control and environmental objectives, respectively.
