Is Call of Duty 4 Split-Screen in Multiplayer Mode?

"Call of Duty 4 " is the first game in the "Call of Duty" series to feature a setting outside of World War II. "Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare" won more than 40 awards at the annual E3 video game convention, and is praised for its fast-paced, level-building multiplayer mode.

Online Multiplayer

"Call of Duty 4" is most famously known for its online multiplayer in which experience points are earned over time, allowing players to level up and acquire new weapons and equipment with each level. The online multiplayer mode can be played by only one person at a time with games ranging from 12 to 18 players.

Split-Screen

Split-screen multiplayer allows up to four players to play simultaneously on one game system in a free-for-all battle. Similar to the online variation, players can level up and gain new weapons as the game progresses; however, reaching new levels takes significantly longer when playing with only four people.

LAN Multiplayer

LAN multiplayer allows for two consoles to be linked together, creating a possible four-on-four multiplayer between two separate screens. LAN multiplayer requires two game systems, two copies of the game, two television sets and enough controllers for everyone to play.
