Fastest Growing Citrus Tree
A fast and easy citrus tree to grow is the Meyer lemon. It is a dwarf specimen that grows well in containers and adapts well to being inside in the winter. It's flowers give off a fresh lemon scent and it bears fruit heavily. Does this Spark an idea?
-
Location
-
Meyer lemons grow well indoors in the winter. The Meyer lemon tree does fine indoors as long as it receives at least five hours of sunlight per day. In the warmer months, it can sit outside in a sunny spot. If you don't have a south-facing window for your citrus tree, supplement the amount of light with a 40-watt fluorescent grow light.
Fertilizer
-
A lemon tree needs to be fed periodically, especially during its active growth season during late winter and in summer. An acidic plant food is best for fruiting.
-
Moisture
-
Place pea gravel in a container and set the potted Meyer lemon tree on it. The tree's container should have drainage holes in the bottom. During the dry winter months, water the Meyer lemon tree every few days and mist the leaves.
