You will be tested on your welding skills. For the bridge welding certification, as a trained welder you are tested on a series of welds. The test is administered by the American Welding Society (AWS). The sign-up process is done online and the test completed at an accredited testing center. The examining official will review the weld you complete and issue a grade.

Another use of the bridge welding certification is that the welder is able to progress in his career and apply for job roles such as a certified bridge welding supervisor.
