Check printing staff should have excellent math skills, a high level of honesty, solid business ethics and expect to be supervised or reviewed regularly without feeling insulted by it.

Check printing duties are assigned to individuals with backgrounds in bookkeeping. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, bookkeepers and accountants may be expected to maintain accounting records, figure expenditures and manage receipts in addition to generating checks for accounts payable. Check printing staffers may be either full-charge bookkeepers, who can maintain an entire company's books or accounting clerks who handle the specific task of printing checks.
Responsibilities

Employees managing the check printer may be responsible for payroll and other payables. Bookkeepers who manage check printers will also be required to record transactions and post debits and credits to the business checking account. They may be responsible for preparing reports for supervisors or company owners. They may be responsible generating payroll on a regular basis.

Check printing staff must be able to deal with supervisors, managers and other departments easily. They should be able to communicate clearly verbally as well as via typical office communication methods such as faxes, emails or memos.
