Camaro SS Vs. Camaro Z28
In what was then believed to be the the car's final year of production, the 2002 Chevrolet Camaro line included a coupe and convertible Z28 model. In 2010, the Camaro line, including two SS models, was reborn.

The 2002 Camaro coupe originally sold for $22,830, while the 2002 convertible trim had a price tag of $29,925. The 2010 Camaro 1SS sold for $30,945, and the 2SS had a purchase price of $33,945.
Engines

Chevrolet's 2002 Z28 coupe and convertible were equipped with 5.7-liter, V-8 engines with 310 horsepower at 5,200 rpm and 340 foot-pounds of torque at 4,000 rpm. The 2010 SS models featured a 6.2-liter, V-8 engine with 426 horsepower at 5,900 rpm and 420 foot-pounds of torque at 4,600 rpm.

The only safety equipment featured on the 2002 Camaro Z28 models was driver and passenger front airbags, anti-lock brakes and limited-slip differential braking. The 2010 Camaro SS models' standard safety equipment included driver and passenger front and side airbags, anti-lock brakes, traction and stability control and a trunk anti-trap device.
