  1. Significance

    • Proper care of the refrigerator results in the refrigerator maintaining the preferable operating temperature of between 30 and 40 degrees Fahrenheit. In addition, taking care of the refrigerator also keeps it sanitary and clean smelling.

    Basics

    • Use soap and water to wipe down the inside and outside surfaces of the refrigerator. Remove the dust off of the condenser coils, often found on the back of the refrigerator, using a vacuum. Pull out the drip pan from underneath the refrigerator and empty any moisture and wipe down the pan.

    Considerations

    • Wipe up spills immediately to prevent bacteria and mold growth. Clean under the refrigerator on a regular basis. Refer to the refrigerator's manual for specific instructions, recommendations and routine service information.
