Sunlight
-
Place your corn plant where the plant will be exposed to indirect, low light, such as a spot near a north-facing window or near a window covered by light curtain. Locate your corn plant at least 8 feet away from a bright, sunny window.
Water
-
Water your corn plant when the top of the potting soil feels dry to the touch. If the pot is larger than 6 inches in diameter, the soil should be allowed to dry to a depth of 1 to 2 inches. Add water until it begins to drip through the drainage hole. Leave the pot on the drainage saucer for five to 10 minutes, then pour out any remaining water.

Feeding
-
Feed your corn plant once every month, using a light solution of a liquid fertilizer for indoor plants. Add 1 tsp. of the fertilizer for every gallon of water. Withhold fertilizer during the winter months and resume the normal feeding schedule in spring.
