What is NMAS Client?
The Novell modular authentication service (NMAS) is the common name for the NMAS client, a secure login service from the United States-based technology company, Novell. NMAS was developed to provide businesses with a secure computer login method over their networks.

Login Security
-
The NMAS client offers multiple layers of security for business networks. Under NMAS, network administrators can require up to three different different login methods to access some or all of the network. Aside from passwords, NMAS supports finger swipes, key cards and challenge questions.
Password Management
-
Network administrators using the NMAS client can set their own password management policies, including setting password character requirements and limits, password renewal schedules and disallowed passwords. Account lockout following multiple failed login attempts can also be customized.
-
Supported Platforms
-
The NMAS client is compatible with the Microsoft Windows, Linux, NetWare and Solaris operating systems. Novell also offers a Java-based version of the NMAS client for Web-based applications in need of advanced security.
