With the influx of technology in today's world, it is easy to continue to learn while traveling or from afar. The idea of learning, yet not sitting in a distinct location at all times, is referred to as mobile learning or mlearning.

Used for learning, testing and job training, mobile learning involves educating yourself through technology, such as mobile phones, laptops, notebooks and MP3 players. Learning through a portable device allows a greater number of people to continue educating themselves without the typical constraints of a classroom.
This technique is becoming increasingly common in schools and businesses. Although often considered a distance-learning technique, mobile learning can also refer to students using hand-held devices to learn while in the classroom.

Accessibility and the ability to learn from your own hand-held device have helped this idea take off. Although there are many advantages to mobile learning (such as freedom to learn from any location), one of the greatest benefits is that the material reaches a larger, more varied audience who can contribute to the topic, answer questions and bounce ideas off of one another.

Mobile learning can be more convenient; however, it is important to remember that if you are a person who learns better in a classroom setting or through real-life interaction, mobile learning may not be for you.
