Kindle DX Specifications

The Kindle DX is a larger version of Amazon's Kindle e-reader. The Kindle DX allows users to perform the same tasks as the smaller Kindle, namely buy and read books, magazines and newspapers, but on a larger screen.

  1. Display

    • Measured diagonally, the Kindle DX's screen is 9.7 inches. The screen uses E-Ink Pearl technology which produces very clear monochrome text and graphics. The display auto-rotates from portrait to landscape mode.

    3G Connectivity

    • The Kindle DX has built-in 3G connectivity with free service. The e-reader connects to Amazon through 3G to download books and to access the Kindle bookstore. Using Amazon's Whipersync technology and the 3G connectivity, all media on the Kindle is archived and available on other devices such as smartphones and computers.

    Battery

    • The battery in the Kindle DX lasts on average for one week once the 3G function is turned on. The battery will provide up to three weeks of power when the 3G is turned off.

    Capacity

    • The Kindle DX can hold up to 3,500 books, magazines and/or newspapers.

    Size and Weight

    • The Kindle DX measures 10.4 inches x 7.2 inches x 0.38 inches. The unit weighs 18.9 ounces without a cover.
