  1. Basic Care

    • Flowering spring cacti require a great deal of light. The plants should be allowed to dry out between waterings. According to the University of Missouri Extension, holiday cacti are relatively pest and disease free.

    Features

    • Easter cacti offer flowers in yellow, pink, peach, white or red. The plants have segmented stems with small spines at the joints of the stems. According to the Clemson Cooperative Extension, the plants flower at the stem joints and ends.

    Flowering

    • Spring cacti can be induced to flower by exposing the plants to cool temperatures and less light, followed by a transition to warmer temperatures and light for longer durations, according to Greenhouse Product News website. Greenhouses tend to induce flowering for sales during the months of March and April, the website additionally notes.
