JL Audio W6v2 Vs. W7

The JL Audio W6v2 series and the W7 series are both types of subwoofers, but subtle differences make them appropriate for various audiophile needs. Each speaker provides the low range of sound and bass for a speaker system.

  1. W6v2 Dimensions

    • The smallest W6v2 subwoofer model has an overall diameter of 10.5 inches, a mounting depth of 6.9 inches and a 6.125 inch magnet diameter. The largest model, the 13W6v2, has an overall diameter of 14 inches, a mounting depth of 9.2 inches and a magnet diameter of 6.65 inches.

    W7 Dimensions

    • For the W7 series, the smallest model, the 10W7, has a mounting depth of eight inches, an overall diameter of 10.5 inches, and a magnet diameter of 6.55 inches. The 13W7 is the largest model in the W7 series, and its overall diameter is 14 inches with a magnet diameter of 8.38 inches and a mounting depth of 10.5 inches.

    Technologies

    • Both the W6v2 series and the W7 models feature highly linear, DMA optimized motor systems, as well as a W-cone. Both series also have elevated frame-cooling, but only the W6v2 series comes equipped with NeckVent cooling.

    Prices

    • As of December 2010, prices for the W6v2 series range from $439.95 to $639.95. The prices for the W7 series range from $439.95 to $1,119.95.
