Smart Board Certification

In 1991, SMART technologies introduced its interactive whiteboard. As of 2010, it has sold over 1.8 million units that are used in education, government and business settings. SMART Board certification allows individuals to present courses for whiteboard training.

Aim

The aim of SMART Board certification is to train candidates on the use of the company's interactive whiteboard technology. Once certified, candidates are permitted to train others in 90 minute, half-day and full-day training sessions on the use of the technology.

Training

SMART Board training takes place at various cities throughout North America; the training course is accompanied by pre-course training materials that should be studied by each candidate. Prior to attending the course candidates receive pre-course self-study materials.

Benefits

When a training course is completed and the relevant exams have been completed by a candidate with a passing score of 80 percent, a certificate and letter of completion is provided by SMART. The name of each certified trainer is also listed on the company website. Trainers must complete an annual exam to maintain certification.
