Specs on a Cobra ESD-6050

The Cobra ESD-6050 Radar Detector is made by Cobra Electronics. Radar detectors locate emergency vehicles like police cruisers, and can detect speed traps. Use and ownership is dependent on the laws in your area.

  1. Modes and Alerts

    • The Cobra ESD-6050 Radar Detector features two detection modes. The highway-mode default -- and the city mode -- avoid false alarms. The unit accomplishes this by lowering signal strength.

The ESD-6050 features five alert tones for X, K, KA, Laser/Saftey alert and VG-2 alert. It also features a "display only" mute mode.

Detection area, wave length bands and VG-2 detection

    • The ESD-6050 detects X at 10.525 GHz plus or minus 50 MHz, K at 24.150 GHz plus or minus 100 MHz , Ka at 33.4-to-36.0 GHz wavelength bands and laser signals at 300 THz-to-375 THz

VG-2 alert recognizes a police vehicle's VG-2 radar detector locator and shields or shuts down your radar detector. The VG-2 alert works on frequencies 11.4 GHz-to-11.7 GHz.

This models detection range is aimed towards the front of the vehicle.

    Dimensions, power supply and voltage

    • The unit's dimensions are 3.6 inches by 2.8 inches by 1.1 inches. Its power supply is a 12-volt, DC cord with a lighter attachment.
