DOC to DOCX
DOCX is the native text file format for Microsoft Word 2007. Previous versions of Word used the DOC format. Although Word 2007 can open DOC files as well as DOCX files, you can still convert a DOC to DOCX.

If you have Microsoft Word 2007 on your computer, you can easily convert DOC files to DOCX by using the "Save As" feature and choosing "DOCX." If you have an earlier version of Word, download and install the Office 2007 Compatibility Pack for the same functionality.
