NFPA: Remote Training
The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) sponsors safety programs, such as "Learn Not To Burn" and "Fire Prevention Week." The group holds seminars in various locations to train people on how to apply fire and other safety codes. They also offer several forms of remote training.

Online Courses

NFPA offers 88 self-paced online courses. A variety of topics are covered, including fire alarm systems, electrical safety, sprinkler systems and the dangers of smoke to building occupants in a fire. Industry code experts are responsible for developing each course. As of December 2010, prices ranged from $39 to $220 each.
Webinars

Students can earn continuing education units and interact with industry code experts when they participate in NFPA's live webinars. Ten different webinars are available on subjects such as the 2011 National Electrical Code, Occupant Evacuation Using Elevators, Sprinkler Plans Review and Electrical Safety in the Workplace Changes. As of December 2010, the webinars cost about $200 each.

NFPA offers 55 different videos that can be used to train workers, management, fire fighters or people in the community on issues such as fire safety regulations, fire protection systems and electrical safety. As of December 2010, each video costs about $300.
