What Is Kerberos?
-
Kerberos is a network authentication protocol that uses strong protection cryptography in order to ensure that privacy and reliable data are exchanged. The program is an alternative to a firewall, which can often interfere with your ability to navigate the Internet. It also provides authentication tools so that your information is as secure as possible.
History
-
Kerberos is a program developed by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). The consortium to continue development on the Kerberos protocol was founded in 2007 and has released five versions of the program. Unfortunately, older versions are not compatible with the latest software, so you may need to update your system.

The Realm
-
The Kerberos Realm, where the data for the encryption key is stored, is located in one computer in the system. You can modify the name of your own personal realm to identify it easily. Your realm name should be the same as your domain name in capital letters so that it's easier to remember.
